Ramban (Hindi: रामबन) is a newly created district in Jammu and Kashmir, India.
Ramban is located at .[1] It has an average elevation of 1156 metres (3792 feet).The boundary lines of new district have come to be drawn from Patnitop on its South, Assar on its East, Gool on its west, and Banihal on its north. The district Ramban comprises 02 Tehsils i.e. Ramban and Banihal and 04 CD blocks, namely Banihal, Gool, Ramban and Ramsoo. As per census 2001, District consists of 116 census villages and 127 Revenue villages out of which two villages namely Dhar Shivgarh (Ramban Tehsil) and Jagir Namdhar (Banihal Tehsil) are un-inhabited.
